558.550 Salinomycin. Specifications: Type A medicated articles: 30 grams of activity from salinomycin sodium biomass. Conditions of use: Chickens (broilers) Amount: Salinomycin 40 to 60 grams per ton of feed, roxarsone 45.4 grams per ton of feed, and lincomycin 2 grams per ton of feed. Indications: For the prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. brunetti, and E. mivati including some field strains of E. tenella that are more susceptible to roxarsone combined with salinomycin than to salinomycin alone, and for improved feed efficiency. Limitations: Feed continuously as sole ration. Not approved for use with pellet binders. Drug overdose or lack of water may result in leg weakness. Do not feed to layers. Do not allow horses, adult turkeys, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, or ruminants access to this feed. Ingestion by these species may result in severe gastrointestinal effects or may be fatal. Withdraw 5 days before slaughter. |
