Dosage Amount, Indications & Limitations |
558.366 Narasin. Specifications: Type A medicated articles containing: 25 percent nicarbazin. Conditions of use: Chickens (broilers) Amount: 27 to 45 grams nicarbazin per ton of feed in combination with narasin, 27 to 45 grams per ton of feed and bacitracin methylene disalicylate, 4 to 50 grams per ton of feed. Indications: Prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix. E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. brunetti, E. mivati; for increased rate of weight gain and improved feed efficiency. Limitations: Feed continuously as sole ration. Withdraw 5 days before slaughter. Do not allow turkeys, horses or other equines access to formulations containing narasin. Ingestion of narasin by these species has been fatal. Do not feed to laying hens. |

Chickens (abdominal fat). The tolerance for parent narasin (the marker residue) is 480 parts per billion. A tolerance of 4 parts per million is established for residues of nicarbazin in uncooked chicken muscle, liver, skin, and kidney. The tolerance for residues of bacitracin from zinc bacitracin or bacitracin methylene disalicylate in uncooked edible tissues of cattle, swine, chickens, turkeys, pheasants, and quail, and in milk and eggs is 0.5 part per million |
