522.540 Dexamethasone injection. Specifications: The drug is a sterile aqueous solution. Each milliliter contains 2 milligrams of dexamethasone. Conditions of use: Cattle Amount: 5 to 20 milligrams depending on the severity of the condition administered intravenously or intramuscularly. Dosage may be repeated if necessary. Indications: For the treatment of primary bovine ketosis and as an anti-inflammatory agent in cattle. Limitations: Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Horses Amount: 2.5 to 5 milligrams administered intravenously or intramuscularly. Dosage may be repeated if necessary. Indications: The drug is indicated as an anti-inflammatory agent in horses.
