558.366 Nicarbazin Specifications: Type A medicated articles containing: 25 percent nicarbazin. Conditions of use: Chickens (broilers) Amount: 27 to 45 grams Nicarbazin per ton of feed in combination with Narasin 27 to 45 grams per ton of feed. Indications: Prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. brunetti and E. mivati. Limitations: Feed continuously as sole ration. Do not feed to laying hens. Do not allow adult turkeys, horses, or other equines access to formulations containing narasin. Ingestion of narasin by these animals has been fatal. Withdraw 5 days before slaughter. The two drugs can be combined only at a 1:1 ratio for the 27 to 45 grams per ton range. Only nicarbazin as provided by this sponsor may be used in combination. Amount: 27 to 45 grams Nicarbazin per ton of feed in combination with Narasin 27 to 45 grams per ton and Lincomycin 2 to 4 grams per ton. Indications: Prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. brunetti and E. mivati increased rate of gain and improved feed efficiency. Limitations: Feed continuously as sole ration. Withdraw 5 days before slaughter. Do not allow turkeys, horses or other equines access to formulations containing narasin. Ingestion of narasin by these species has been fatal. Do not feed to laying hens. Do not allow rabbits, hamster, guinea pigs, horses or ruminants access to feeds containing lincomycin. Ingestion by these species may result in severe gastrointestinal effects. |
| Tolerances |
Chickens (abdominal fat). The tolerance for parent narasin (the marker residue) is 480 parts per billion. A tolerance for residues of lincomycin in chickens is not required. Tolerances for lincomycin in swine of 0.6 part per million in liver and 0.1 part per million in muscle are established. A tolerance of 4 parts per million is established for residues of nicarbazin in uncooked chicken muscle, liver, skin, and kidney. |
