520.1696d Penicillin V potassium tablets. Specifications: Each tablet contains penicillin V potassium 125 (200,000 units) or 250 milligrams (400,000 units) of penicillin V. Conditions of use: Dogs Amount: 10 to 15 milligrams per pound of body weight every 6 to 8 hours. Indications: Treatment of respiratory, urogenital, skin, and soft tissue infections and septicemia caused by pathogens susceptible to penicillin V. Limitations: Administer orally 1 to 2 hours prior to feeding for maximum absorption. Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Tolerances are established for residues of penicillin and the salts of penicillin in food as follows: a. In cattle: 0.05 part per million (negligible residue) in the uncooked edible tissues b. In chickens, pheasants, quail, swine, and sheep: zero in the uncooked edible tissues c. In milk or any processed food in which milk has been used: zero d. In eggs: zero e. In turkeys: 0.01 part per million in the uncooked edible tissues |
