522.312 Carprofen. Specifications. Each milliliter of solution contains 50 milligrams carprofen. Conditions of use Dogs: Amount: 2 milligram per pound (4.4 milligrams per kilogram) body weight once daily or 1 milligram per pound (2.2 milligrams per kilogram) body weight twice daily, by subcutaneous injection. Indications. For the relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and for the control of postoperative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Limitations. Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. For the control of postoperative pain, administer approximately 2 hours before the procedure. |
